Car runs fine for ten miles then quits. Please help
ok, so my 2001 A4 has been in the shop for about two months now, and the mechanic just cannot seem to figure out what is wrong with the car. I can start it just fine when it is cold, then drive it for a distance before it shuts off. It doesnt give any warning, just stops dead. If I let it sit for awhile it will turn back over and I can drive it for about two miles before it dies again. I just had the engine speed sensor replaced, the air mass sensor, the vacuum check valves as well. The only blatant problem is the turbo; it leaks oil and coolant. However, the coolant levels are normal and so are the oil so thats not the issue.
There is one reoccuring problem that might provide insight, and that is the repeated failure of the ignition coil packs. I have put two full sets in and both have failed. The failure occurs on the same two cylinders every time. I'm at wits end with the car and am about to say its a total loss. Please if anyone has any information that might help me in fixing it I would GREATLY appreciate!
