Default Please help me decide what to do!!!

Car: 2002 audi a4, V6 3.0L, quattro

So my stock SYMPHONY radio died the other day. Took it in to the dealer, and they say they have to replace it for $300. Yes, they tried disconnecting power to the unit with no luck.

So my question is, should I just go ahead and spend the $300 on a factory radio, or should I try and get an aftermarket radio and figure out the nightmare that is installing that (I have a bose sound system). I've spent several hours reading these forums, and it seems like hell trying to get an aftermarket radio to work with bose speakers.

On the other hand....$300 for a factory stereo??? I could get a DVD touchscreen receiver for that price!

Thanks for the help guys!!

Also, if I do get an aftermarket stereo, would you guys recommended me install it myself? I've installed 3 other stereos on various cars before, but this one seems more complicated. And I don't wanna mess anything up.

Check with ecstuning. They had these units on sale a while back.

Go to google shopping and do a search on "Audi Symphony II". Lots of choices there, for less that $200.

ECS Tuning apparently does not stock head units anymore, alas.
