Default Possible Fuel Pump Problem

I posted this in the other section of the forum, I am new here but maybe I can get a faster answer here.

https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=120050

New to the forum, also a new Audi A4 owner.

I purchased a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T from a friend of mine about a month ago. The odomoter reads 96k but a new Audi engine was installed (12k on new engine). This car has been great over the past month except when I went to leave work last nght the car would not start. It cranks but does not turn over. I load tested the battery and it came up weak so I repaced it. Still no start. So I started to explore further, I used a test light and checked all the fuses, there is no power going to the fuel pump fuse, I replaced the fuel pump relay as well, still will not turn over. When I turn the ignition on, the fuel tank reads full (which it is). Any ideas? Or am I going to need a fuel pump?

I spoke to a few techs and they had mentioned that it possibly could be the ignition switch. Allegedly if the ignition switch does not send the signal to the ECM, the relay will not send the signal to the fuse or the fuel pump. It has been three days and it is killing me that I don't have my car!

Car is back on the road!! It turns out it was the ignition switch. Nice $13.00 fix!

Whoa . . . just to recheck with someone who might be having these issues. It's important to remember that "You dont mix up the fuel lines once you change the filter." It will not allow the gas to proceed. And no the pump might not come on with a little ruur or you might not be able to feel it prime the gas once the key is turned to the ACC position. Thanks agent 1.8
