Default Power seat not working

I just bought a 2004 A4 and love it. I got a great deal on it however it needed two new front seats which I got from salvage lot yesterday from an A4 quattro. Nice seats. Anyhow the orginal passenger seat power wasn't working when I bought it. Got the new seat and still no go. I cleaned the plugs under the seat with some alcohol and verfied no broken wires and obviously reseated them. Anyone know what I can check next? Is there a fuse related to the power in the passenger seat or somwhere else to check?

Default Seat Switch?

Did you try checking for power to the switch / conductivity besides just cleaning it up?

Have the same problem with driver seat not working, called the dealer, been told to check that first, if your looking for a new switch, dealer ~ 180 CDN.

Good luck!

I did not check for conductivity. I will try that this evening and hopefully find an issue. I'm sure Audi would be $80 x several hours to fix this issue.

If the seat hasn't been moved in some time the motors can freeze up from sitting. If you are getting power to the plug, while pressing the switch lightly tap the motor with a hammer. We do this for seat and window motors all the time with alot of success.

Update for anyone that might be interested. I removed both front seats and put the seat not working in the driver's side so I could at least test the power and get the seat into a position the passenger could sit in and all power worked on the driver's side. Next I will check for continuity tonight and scratch my head at little more after that. Guess I will need to find a schematic to trace the wires. From what I can tell the red plug under the seat controls the seat's power.

Check your fuse box.
