Default Power seat not working

Hi. Greetings and thanks on my first post. I hope it's in the right place.

My sister's 1996 A6 Quattro 2.8L has lost all function to the driver's side power seat. This happened after so much water got in the car that it was sloshing around and got under the seat. The problem is she can't drive it now 'cause she's short and the seat remains at the last setting by her husband who ran it all the way to the rear.

Here's what we've come up with in our troubleshooting trials so far...

Edited...

After more troubleshooting it looks like we will have to take the seat out to check for water causing a short. Does anyone know the procedure to remove the driver's seat from a 1997 Audi A6 Quattro 2.8L?

Thank You!

if its the same as my 01 there should be a bolt in the front you have to push the carpeting down to be able to see it. take it out and the seat should lean back so you can unhook the wires. my daughters car had this same problem and I found that the seat memory module had gotten water in it and was fried also the two lower seat motors were bad I bought a used seat and transferred the parts onto her seat as it was much cheaper than buying all new parts.

Thanks! We're now trying to locate a used seat. Not having much luck. There's one on ebay but it's for a '96 A4. We have an A6. Wonder if that would work...
