Default Problem With B6 A4 3.0 -Need Help ASAP

Its been awhile since I've been on here... busy with work and all... but just an hour ago my girlfriend calls me saying the B6 A4 3.0 Auto is stalling. She says while she drives it feels like the car is struggling to stay alive and then all of a sudden dies. She said the car also dies when she has to make a stop at a light. The car will turn back on without a problem but will not stay on.

Any input would be awesome. We are on a huge budget right now and any comments on what the problem might be would be awesome so I can fix myself.

Thanks fam

More info on the car. Year, mileage, quattro? CEL on? Timing belt done?

For what its worth my 2002 3.0 Quattro tiptronic was alot like this right when my timing belt was about to go. I drove it to the dealer and called for a ride home. It suddenly started idling poorly, running rough, stalled a couple times on me. My belt wasn't broken, but it was stretched out enough that it threw the timing off and caused the car to run rough. $1200 and 2 days later it was fine.

Im betting its a CVT transmission, and thats most likely the problem.
We do still need more info though, and fault codes would be nice.

Wound CVT problems make the car stall though? That seems weird to me, but I don't haeva CVT so I'm not well versed in their issues.

If it's not CVT check your coil pack harness, maybe a plug came loose. Run codes to verify any fault.

A CVT could cause more problems than you could imagine. But since you have quattro we really need the fault codes to go any further.

It is a 2004 A4 V6 FWD 3.0 No CELs and no faults found in the system. TB has not been changed but looks and feels firm and how it should. No cracks or anything in it aswell. Car has about 70K miles

I may be wrong, but I don;t think you can check your timing belt on a 3.0 withuot pulling the front of the motor out. Are you looking at the serpentine belt? Thats not the one to be worried about, the timing belt should typically be done right around this mileage...not saying its your TB for sure, but the behavior makes me suspicous.

Is your auto a conventional 5 sp auto or is it a CVT? Not sure if they put the CVT's on the V6 fwd cars or jsut the 1.8t's.
