Prospective Purchaser
Hi,
Advice please...
I am about to purchase an Audi A4 1.9TDI with 121,000 miles on it. It is a 2004 model. It appears to have been well cared for with a service history. Also, the timing belt etc will be done, as will the MOT/NCT and new set of tyres.
My question is this: If I did approx 40,000 miles over next 3 years and cared for the car, would I be likely to accrue large maintenance costs?? I would envisage not spending more than 1500 over this time...
Any help appreciated and any tips as to tell-tale signs of problems...
Thanks in advance

Not on a diesel, we don't get the TDI models in the US (sucks!) but i am familiar with the VW TDI, same thing basically. It you get all the belts serviced, and change the oil on a regular basis, you should get anywhere from 300,000-500,000 miles on it without skipping a beat. An ocasional oil leak and coolant leak may happen, but those aren't expensive repairs on a TDI, usually minor stuff.
