Quick question
Hi, i'm interested in buying a second-hand Audi.
I'm pretty specific about what i'm after which is;
An A4 B6 model, Quattro (not a fan of FWD), non-turbo (Legal restriction) with a manual transmission, which i know doesn't leave me many options cept for the V6 3.0 Quattro.
Over here in Australia I've searched hi and low through our various car sale websites.
All i seem to be finding is the A4 B6 3.0 Quattro with only automatics transmissions?
The question is do the A4 B6 3.0 Quattro with a manual option? Because I can't find any!
I've also looked for transmission conversions kits with no luck in finding any.
if there is a kit I'll have to get a RHD option.
Just hope some one here can help me out and point me in the right direction.

I hold a provisional licence, which means i can't drive V8's and anything that has forced induction installed, excluding turbo desiels.
Its used to be a power to weight ratio but they just recently changed the law,
Mate bought a BMW 740IL... the thing as a bloody tank but because its a V8 its considered to be too powerful for us "P" platers.
Maybe I'm not looking hard enough... i just hanvnt seen any 3.0 manuals at all yet.
Do any of u guys know about after market manual kits for the 3.0?

You don't really want to do that. No, there aren't any kits so anything you'll fab up will be expensive and may be complicated down the road. In the 1.8t's the crank is different between trannies so you might run into that problem as well. I don't think anyone's tried to do that yet. Keep searching dude, or ask to see if there were any manuals sent to Australia.
I own a 2003 A4 3.0l MT6 which I bought over the summer. It was the 3rd one we looked at. Not real common....Americans mostly like automatics and the 3.0l is a little more plush than the 1.8T. Easier to find a stick in a 1.8T.
Your right... the car will last longer than the provisional license.
I could buy the 1.8tq but if i get caught driving it i can get a fine of $600 and will lose my license for up to 12 months.
Although i could de-badge it and drive it on the rare occasion... but even that wont work, I have a lot of mates who've been busted for it.
