Default re-programming alarm system

does anyone know the process of reprogramming the alarm system on the A4? I had to pull the fuse and it has completely made it to where I can only set the alarm with the key in the door. any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a way to do it, same thing happened to me. You need 2 keys, one in the ignition clicked forward one notch and the other in the door. Search this forum to find the exact instructions, that is where I found them. This however did not work for me. I went to the dealer to hand over my car for some work and they said they would show me how to do it when I pick it up, I had the right procedure its just a little finicky. On the new A4s you only have to put the key in and turn it and press a button and hold it down, older ones you need 2 keys to do it. If you car only runs for ~3 min and then stalls you need to go to the dealer and get the key re-programmed into the ECU ~$130. I would just go to the dealer on your way home from work and ask the service manager to show you how to program back in the alarm and keyless entry on the remote, they should not charge you for that. Its best to see them do it first hand so you can do it next time you have to change your battery or disconnect the battery to install something like I did.

What if you don't have 2 keys? I only got one.

I think you should call the dealer, I don't think you can re-program the alarm remote with only 1 key.
