Hey guys,

I recently posted that I had a problem with my transmission range sensor. My gear selection icons on my dash where blinking all the time and just recently the car has a hard time getting in reverse. BTW its a B6 3.0 TIP

I took it to the dealer and I was shocked to hear it was a $1800 repair. HOWEVER.... here's the thing..... by the state of CA emmissions laws... even if the car is not under warrenty.. its covered for up to 70k miles (i think) or 7 years against this.

So no cost to repair for me. He also said other tranny/engine sensor problems are covered under the State of California emission warrenty/laws.

I know must of you guys arnt in Cali, but I thought I post this and make you aware of the situtation just in case it happens to you. Because the first dealer I went to knew nothing about this.. and I would have had to pay the 1800.
