Default Reading and interpreting codes

Hello all,

Do any of you have a recommendation for a code reader/diagnostic computer, or is there some other way to read and interpret the codes of an A4?

Thanks,

If you're having fault codes just cruise down to AUTOZONE and use their diagnotic computer. Its free to use.

Once you get the codes tell the guy that works there and he wil give you a printout of the problem and resolution. I personally use an ACTRON to read codes on cars 1995 and newer

A lot of us us a VAG-COM. http://www.ross-tech.com/index.htmlis the best and most expensive way to do this. You need a laptop and interface cable. The cheap way is to get a cheap cable on ebay and the free software from rosstech http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ht=ebay+vagcomWorks great and allows you to change things a bit.
