Safe to Clean Engine?
Is it Safe to Clean the Engine?
Or is there a safe way?
I was thinking of using a pressure washer, but afrid that i might get water in electronics, the pressure of the water may damage pipes and cables or even unplug them. or getting water into the oil through the pipe which holds the oil dip stick

Spray engine de-greaser on a warm engine and hose off. I have used a pressure washer (low pressure nozzle) to clean my engine but I avoid slamming the electronics. I also did a good pressure cleaning once and now just wipe it down after every car wash/wax. A clean engine makes finding leaks a lot easier. You might remove the engine covers (which pop out of rubber mounts) to make it easier to actually clean the engine.
The only problem i have seen from doing it is the coil packs will rust. Once they rust they tend to fall apart or they short to the cylinder head causing a super misfire. I would avoid the cylinder head area all together, especially with a pressure washer.
The ECM is sealed in a plastic box, and its sealed again inside the box, no harm there.
