Default RE: Second guessing my Audi purchase...help?

Thanks for the input everyone. Although I'm kind of just accepting that I don't have the exact car I want right now, I am looking at this as my "starter" Audi. In acouple years when I have the loan paid down I plan on really looking for the car that I want, and yes it will be another Audi. Even though my car is FWD, I'll still take it over a VW any day....or really any other kind of car in a similar price range.
And yes, the multitronic is kinda fun actually.

Maybe Luther Vandross was on to something...

ORIGINAL: SkipA

I just bought an '03 A4 3.0 Quattro w/ stick. It's a blast to drive. The AWD is really great in snow, but other than that it's kind of a gas hog. It's getting abt 20 mpg in city traffic and abt 26 on the highway. This car replaced my '98 Passat 1.8T/stick that did about 23 city / 36 highway.

I'm in the Chicago area and the Quattro is nice for the 5 or 6 days when the snow is bad, but I don't think I would get it again unless it was switchable on or off. Especially at $4.29 / gal

its not the quattro thats hogging your gas, its the crappy v6 you got! when i was stock, i could easily get 32-36MPG driving 60mph on the hwy and about 30-32 running 80

even now with all my mods i consistently average 25-28 mpg with mostly city driving now and 28-30 on the highway

if you look at the vehicle stickers, quattro only lowers MPG by 2 MPG

he was... if a CVT could hold the power, i imagine it would be the perfect tranny for a BT as it would hold RPMs right in peak boost...

My last one was a 01 a4 tiptronic, liked it much better after i chipped it. Then i would do cosmetic stuff inside and out to make it your own one of a kind. Tint, rims, grill, spoilers etc.etc.etc...

Oh, and as far as the quattro badge, you can either get one on ebay and put it on or... you can debadge , which is what i do with all my audi's. i think it looks better.
