Today I tried to start my car and it did not turn over at all. All the interior electronics turned on and i heard the fuel pump so I dont think its a problem with the ground. I cracked the hood open and didnt touch anything and tried it again and it started right up. No problems what so ever when I am driving either. I thought maybe its the starter but i thought if the starter was going I would at least hear something.

Has anyone seen something like this?

I have to take it to the dealership for the recall and i thought it might be related.

 

wouldnt be related to the coil packs. could be the ignition switch, could be the key programming. could be the starter too. just read some stuff over at zine about people having ignition switch problems.

 

I haven't seen too many B6 A4's with ignition switch problems, still wouldn't rule it out though. Next time it acts up check voltage at the starter, and volt drop the starter wire from the battery to the starter. If those both check out change out the starter.
