My steering wheel controls light up, but they don't work. Can anyone tell me how to fix them. Also, where can I get a shop manual so that my hubby can do some maintenance on my car?

 

If your steering controls worked before then probably the module got messed up, but if they didn't you will need to reprogram it with a VAG-com cable. It is a bit complicated though... Do you have the 3 spoke wheel or the 4 spoke with the 6 buttons (3 on each side)?

 

the steering wheel is three spoke. when i bought the car they were non-functional. and what is a VAG-com? i've seen that in numerous threads.

 

ok, the three spoke wheel doesn't have wheel controls, those buttons are to change gears when you are in triptronic mode.
