That I do not know my friend. As everything audi it should either be a 5/8ths but could be a little bigger. I have the 3.0 so the layout is a little different on mine, mine are 5/8.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I used to do the VCG on my old GTI with its 1.8 which was super simple but with this one I'm afraid to screw something up. Also, I don't want to end up with the wrong clamps for the hoses that need to be disconnected. I still haven't tried the stop leak yet as I was waiting on your opinion but I think I'll try it now given the weather conditions and the fact that in Ottawa the polar bears are EVERYWHERE and always poking around lol.

Just kidding, I love messing with you Yanks.

All the best for the new year my friends!

Don't put crap in your motor anything that will plug a leak will plug other stuff too and can coat the block creating hot spots. Do the job properly and change the gasket and use an automotive sealer on the gasket that should solve the problem. As far as 60-70 degrees goes keep the sealer warm so do the gasket inside then put it on the car shouldn't be a problem but make sure all the surfaces are clean.

DONE.... Eventually my conscience got the better of me. Remarkably enough the VCG change and oil change WITH filter only cost me a whopping $226 YIPPEE!!!
