Strange Issue
This only really happens when it's cool or cold outside. There is a weird varying hum that sounds like it is coming from underneath the rear passenger side seat. I'm not sure if that's really where it's coming from, it's hard to pin point. You can hear it from outside the car as well as from within. Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem? Thanks for the input.

is it when you are driving? or when you are parked?
|
It does it in every gear when running. It's very bizarre. Sometimes it will go in and out when I'm driving down the road, it's almost like it coincides w/the revs. But not really all the time. Puzzling.

Does it start at around 30 mph and seem to be change pitch as the speed changes? Sounds like it might be a rear wheel bearing.
|
^^ Agree - if you are getting a "hum" noise while driving it's usually a sign of bad wheel bearing. That's why I asked if you were hearing it parked or while driving.
|
Yea, I thought about that. But it does it when in Park at idle. It almost sounds like something to do w/the exhaust. I'll take a video and post a link if the sounds comes through to video.

OMG!!! LOL why didn't you put in the first post "noise happens while driving AND while in park"
Would have saved 4 needless posts :0) |
sounds like fuel filter to me

Humming in the rear seat defintly a fuel filter. farily simple to replace also. But the part is expensive and no real way of getting around that.

I have the same problem but on the DRIVERS side. Last year I was told it was a cracked flex pipe...It was going to be like a 500 dollar fix I was told so I just skipped it at that point...
Eventually once it drops below 45 degrees permanently I'll have to get it fix. It's a really annoying noise. |
