Default Suggestion on muffler for B6

Im looking at buying a muffler for my a4 but i dont exactly know what brand anyone would recommend me to buy. Im thinking of going with a borla becuase a friend told me you cant go wrong with a borla muffler. I just want to make sure my car doesnt sound like a civic or just that kind of higher pitch, i want the deep muffler sound... im sure you guys have gone through this already but any suggestions will help, thanks.

hit up youtube. when it comes to exhaust sound, only your ear will tell you what you like. Personally i like the thermal and awe, I think they use the same muffler, also try searching for custom setups. Sometimes the "best" exhaust is a custom job.

The magnaflows give a good sound, if you just want the mufflers, if you want the whole catback kit is a bit more money and research. I believer the 14851's or some number like that are the ones that fit our cars.

the magnaflow is a popular choice but there are other brands that tend to cost more. I think nuespeed has exaust and miltek and borala. Might try a google search.

Neuspeed doesn't make a kit for the 3.0 anymore though, they do manufacture the 1.8.

yea i did look and hear some of the whole cat backs but i heard it was cheaper if you just buy a muffler and take it to a shop to get custom piping done. does the piping really change anything because i kinda like the magnaflow but i wanna know if its cheaper to just get the piping done and if it will change anything like will it affect it in a bad way?

A lot of companies are running specials on cat backs now, so they arent really that expensive. I got my APR setup for about $1000. Is your car a 3.0, or 1.8t? The 1.8t cat backs are mostly the piping all the way up the the cat under the hood, so its quite a bit of pipe.
