I have a 2005 A4 Ultrasport. My sunroof developed a nasty rattle problem a few months ago. If I open the sunroof in any way, it goes away. When I have the sunroof closed and the sun shade closed, I can't hear it (I don't know if is just blocking the noise or is actually stopping the rattle). I've had it to the dealer for repairs twice. The first time they tried lubricating the seals (noise came back after a day), the second time they adjusted the side clips (noise came back after about three days). The rattle is loud and my passengers agree that it is severe. I don't like the solution of having to drive around with my sunshade closed or sunroof open all the time.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Should I take it back to the dealer a third time or try someone else? I'm in Los Angeles South Bay.

If you take it to them a third time and they can't fix it correctly you have grounds for the lemon law in most states. The cure for the problem is a new sunroof track, this requires removing the entire upper interior and headliner which isn't easy on an audi. Im guessing they are trying to stay away from that due to lack of experience or lazyness.
