Default Suspension upgrade for A4 3.0 Ultrasport?

I recently bought an 2004 A4 3.0L Ultrasport. The car's OEM suspensions rides perfect but the stance is not where I would like it. I want to lower it an inch or a little more than an inch but I still want a quality ride. I am definitely going to go with a full suspension set up. I don't want to spend the money on coilovers but I am willing to shell out for a cup kit or a spring and shock combination. I am new to audi's and would like to hear what everybody thinks. Any suggestions?

Thanks

A lot of B6'ers go with H&R sport springs and Bilstein shocks. This is the most common kit. There are also N.S. springs and koni shocks among other choices. IMO save a little more money and get coilovers. I found that B6'ers with just spring/shock combo's sit higher in the front, which I think your trying to avoid. To compliment the suspension pick up a RS4 rear sway bar. The car feels on rails with the suspension upgraded. Best money spent on my B6.

how low do u wanna go?
do u really take it hard on every corner?
if u wanna go for the looks and have BETTER handling with less money to spend you better buy some RACE springs... they will make your car very low ))))))))

i have the identical car, and know exactly how you're feeling about the stance. i decided to go with coilovers and don't regret it at all. if you're up for it, i'd just save up the extra cash for coils and you won't be disappointed with the result..performance wise and stance wise.

I don't drive it hard at all. I'm just looking for the right stance with the cheapest quality set up. I have a little over inch between the tire and the wheel well and I want to close that gap up. I've heard good things about the H&R/Bilstein setup but going with a spring and shock combo doesn't garuntee the right stance. Can anyone vouch for that set up or have any other in-put?

I have Koni adjustable shocks and Neuspeed Race springs and couldn't be happier for the price. The stance is perfect and my car will only see occasional auto-x use so I don't need coilovers. Sure height adjustability with coilovers would be nice but in reality most of us will never adjust it from the initial setup and it's a pain in the *** to do so anyways. I have damping adjustability so I'm good there and I can spend the hundreds I saved from not getting coilovers somewhere else on the car.

Are the Koni shocks height adjustable? Cause I've had the Koni yellows before and they were height adjustable.
