Default some problems with a4 03

Well, I just got to 47000 miles and decided to do the 50k service at the dealer. They tell me the rear brakes need new pads/rotars. Labor and parts for that are 510.00
Timing belt apparently is worn with cracks and can go at anytime labor and parts 1370.00
Cam seal and engine mount both under warrenty will be done at the same time.

This is the first time I have had to pay for a service as well, thought the car was covered to 50k but paid 343.00 for the 50k service (might take that up with them).

So that is a bucket load of cash for a car that I have paid off and want to keep going. I know I have to do the timing belt or I will be in big trouble, so I am looking for any suggestions. Should I try another dearler or workshop, surely I can get the brakes done cheaper somewhere else??

Any help appreaciated ......... or should I get another a4 (mmmmmm) oh right cant afford one right now

well its entirely up to you, if i was you id seek some help from an audi specialist. if they are decent they will recommend good after market stuff and you may find you can upgrade on pads and disks(rotors) at or lower of cost as the stealer's.

same with timing belt. unless the warranty forbids it, id do it to! just get the water pump done at same time!

ive heard someone talk about getting the runners done too, but not sure what engine you got? well worth asking the question
