There has to be another fuse panel?????
Hi all,
Having a headlight problem.
I have a VVME aftermarket HID kit. Recently the drivers side headlight went out. I changed Ballast and ignitor and I tested it off the vehicle to make sure it works - it works fine.
My problem is that there is no power at the headlight harness on the drivers side headlight - so I started thinking fuse - however in the fuse panel i think it says 20 and 21 (which are only 15amp fuses) however those sockets on the fuse panel don't have conductors in those locations.
Anyways i came to the conclusion after a lot of testing that there is no way that the headlight fuses are in the fuse panel at the drivers side door.
So the question is.... we all know that the headlights have to fused somewhere - so where the hell is the other fuse panel or at least the headlight fuses located (or possibly it could be a relay).
I'm hoping someone can please offer some assistance as I have this ripped apart in the garage right now.
My car is a 2004 Audi A4 B6 without FACTORY HID and it is 1.8T FWD.
Regards,
xster
P.S. does anyone know of any problems ever resulting from aftermarket HID's being installed (they have been fine for months till now) - Can they ever fry something in the electrical system or worse - the ECU?

I checked under the hood and even ripped off the wipers and stuff to get to where the ECU is. There are a couple of fuses there but they test ok and don't seem to correspond with the headlights. I cannot see any other fuse panel. The headlights have to be fused somewhere!!!!

I put the Vag-Com on the car it says that there is no power supplied to the left headlamp (low beam) (high beam and parking lights work fine). I try to clear the code and it will not clear - it keeps coming back. Someone must know where the headlight wire goes - it has to be fused somewhere - but where??? anyone???

Yep - I'm an idiot!
I reversed the wires in the headlight housing where the factory bulb plug-in connects to the HID output to the Ballast. I even thought of this earlier but swore to myself that i did it correctly - I knew what I was doing but must have got distracted.
It works now.
However, I still think there must be a headlight fuse somewhere and it still has me thinking.
Thank you for the help.
