got my first speeding ticket"/

i was doing 66 in a 40 business area:[

i was in arcadia california......any advice.? anyone know how much itll be?


i wasnt purposely driving fast got off work late and had to be on time fora meeting

 

You can fight the ticket in court. On the ticket there should be a number to call to schedule a hearing. Most of the time the officer that issues the ticket does not show up to the hearing. If he doesn't show, the judge will most likely drop it if you have a valid excuse and a clean driving record. Not sure how much it will be in Cali but in MA its $100 for the first 10 MPH over then 10 bucks for every mph over that, plus a $50 surcharge = $310.

Invest in a radar detector. A good one too. I have a Passport 8500 X50. $300 bucks but it has paid for itself a number of times in the last year. If you had one you would have already been $10 richer!

 

Valentine 1 is the only way to go. Its saved me so many times it's def paid for itself.

 

where did u guys mount yours? Mine is right below my mirror. I'm not sure what the best place is.

 

As high as possible, just under the tint strip. Mines right beside the mirror.

 

I have mine actually above my mirror. I also have it hardwired to the engine so it goes on when im drving and off when Im not.

The Valentine 1 is a great option! I have one of those but currenty i have been using my Solo S1 which is also good. The V1 is much better though. Either way they save me tons of money, and my license..

And i get one for 54 in a 35. plus i am under court supervision or something for another year. whoa! i got my ticket exactly a year ago!

but i still get pulled over for having tinted windows all the time. wow i hate illinois!

 

I want to tint really bad, but won't. Has nothing to do with legality... if it's harder for you to see inside my car through the glass, it's harder for the police radar to see through the glass too, to where my radar detector is located. Same with Lidar.

So in addition to getting extra warning, the police can clearly see what I am doing inside my car (a.k.a. not getting a gun or hiding drugs) as they are walking up, making their life a little less stressful, and therefore reducing ever-so-slightly the probability of me receiving a ticket.

Not that I am a fan of being pulled over, and my city has it's fair share of dick cops, but there are nice ones too, and I figure if I catch a nice one (er, if s/he catches me, lol) I want to be nice too. The second they turn into a dick though, I give what I get...
