Default Timing belt lawsuit

OK since there are many questions about this figured id just make a new thread. hare ya go
Quoted from the pamphlet i got in the mail
TO: All current and former owners and lessees of model year 2000-2003 audi TT and A4 vehicles equipped with 1.8 liter turbo engines distributed for sale in the United States. This advises you of a class action settlement. This settlement resolves a lawsuit and provides new maintenance recommendations and certain extended warranties and/or reimbursements related to timing belt systems in 00 01 02 and 03 Audi a4 and TT vehicles equipped with 1.8 liter turbo engines plus, under specific circumstances cash reimbursement for prior timing belt failures and free timing belt inspections on qualifying vehicles. Failure to follow recommended maintenance could increase the risk of catastrophic engine failure. That was the first page of the package I received in the mail

It goes on to say that Audi of America will provide free timing belt inspections at the current 40k and 80k intervals. If your upcomming 10k service is not at one of these then they are covered too. So if your at 50k 60k etc....they will cover the cost to get the dealer to inspect your timing belt. So since I just did my 60k service on my own I will have to set up an APPT. with the dealer to inspect the belt. The pamphlet goes on to say that if it is determined that you do need a new timing belt YOU will have to pay for it out of YOUR pocket.....BUT if say it is determined that at 60k your timing belt is ok then it snaps at 75k Audi will fully pay for the damage that happened.

In conclusion this pretty much says that AUDI will inspect the timing belts more often than they do so they can determine if your belt is bad and can replace it before it snaps. Again we will have to pay for the routine belt changes.. But if they say your belt is fine then it snaps when you pull onto the highway later you are fully covered... So the worry I had when I bought my car about the belt snapping while driving is taken care of....... I will try to find the whole info packet online so everyone can read it...Im not a typist so Im done haha but Id figure id give you guys what I could with the basic Info......any specific questions just ask and ill look to see if I can Help

AND P.S. I dont know why some of us got these in the mail and why some people didnt

do it yourself, it's not that hard if you have the internet for reference and a case of beer to keep you from getting thirsty. saved myself at least $700.

igot the timing belt letter, didn't even know they had my name since i got the car used. but i've already replaced mine and the checkup date is over. still need ot have the fuel pump recall done and bitch until i get a free ESP button. just hate having other people touch my car, 90% of them don't know what they are doing. "mechanic: those blue hoses hooked to your engine look cool, how fast is it?" goddamn retards!

i'm sad to say i don't have them yet, VERY soon though. So far everything i have done has be go fast mods, but once i figure out this boost problem i'm having with my stage 3 setup coilovers and a set of these will be on the way. They are the Hartmann Lamborghini Gallardo Reps. Keep swaying back and forth between these in 19" with a gunmetal finish or VMR RS4 reps in a gunmetal, always end up coming back to these though, everyone has RS4 reps.

Some more photos for you:
