timing belt, water pump seized
'02 AUDI A4 QUATTRO, 4 CYCL.
engine overheated
engine shut off
timing belt teeth shredded off
water pump seized, unable to turn by hand or with channel locks
crank turns over easy, cam turns over easy without any problems
want to do compression check
starter spins without engaging the flywheel
bendix doesnt seem to be working
is there a safety cut out that is stopping everything from working??

if you're timing belt is shredded the topside of your motor is most likely valve salad.
as for the starter, it is conceivable that it was damaged during the whole timing/waterpump/overheating fiasco but trying to diagnose what might be the problem, with the information you have provided is like asking me if I think that mole is cancerous
good luck
