Tires
So I need to get new tires soon. And I have a 2005 Audi A4 S-line with the Ultrasport package. So I have 18" rims. The OEM tire size for my wheels is 235/40/18. But I have a friend who can get me lightly used tires from a dealer for cheap, but they are 245/40/18. So it's a little wider. The guy claims to be a tire expert and says it will be fine on my car. But I have doubts, and think it will rub and cause problems when I turn. So will the 245 width be okay or a problem?
the 245s will be 10mm wider than the 235s. As far as the heigh the tire, the 245s will be 2mm taller over all, they should fit just fine. It will depend on the back spacing of your wheel. and how much clearance you have between the strut and the tire now. If you have at least 15mm now between the strut and wire on the side and top you'll be ok.
