I have a quick question... When my car shifts in the automatic mode I can feel each gear. It will shake and jerk each time... I have brought it to a VW/Audi specialist and he said that the CVT tranny does this from factory. I have been away for a couple weeks at a time in the last few months and each time I got back I noticed the car would shift smooth. This makes me wonder if possibly the tranny fluid is old and thin...



Does anyone know where I could get some information on how to service the ATF in the CVT tranny and where to find the fluid and filter for this. I have serviced MT and AT trannies before but the mechanic told me that you cant change the fluid in the CVT trannys. Thank you!



Just called local Audi dealership and they said the fluid swap would cost ~$800. They mentioned the fluid is about $45/quart...

 

I too have a CVT and it is pretty smooth - from time to time, I feel a jerk, but its very infrequent.
