WARNING: Yellow oil can with the word "SENSOR"
Hey guys,
Getting this issue. The yellow oil can is showing up along with the word sensor on my 02 B6. My question is; If it's a bad connection or wire issue then what can be done to repair it. Also, how hard is it to replace the sensor? I've done the speed sensor and it wasn't that hard to do.
I checked the oil level and it seems fine, replaced it in June, oil is a bit brown but not black and it doesn't smell burnt. Ran a scan and got the following results.
2 Faults Found:
00562 - Sensor for Oil Level/Temperature (G266)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
00562 - Sensor for Oil Level/Temperature (G266)
27-10 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
am I correct in assuming that the words:
"Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent" AND "Implausible Signal - Intermittent"
mean it's an electrical issue???
I'm gonna disconnect the oil sensor and clean the contacts then reconnect it to see if that makes a difference. We'll go from there but in the meantime. Anyone have any suggestions??????

yeah I know..... 130 Canadian with tax BOO!!!! And I was just thinking how reliable these cars were. Oh well, she IS a 2002.
I disconnected it, cleaned the contacts and reconnected it and it's still tripping the warning so I guess it's off to the dealership. Thanks Auditech

Hey guys thanks for the help.... One thing though. ECS Tuning has 2 different Oils sensors for the A4 B6 1.8TQ. One costs 31+. the other costs 85+.
In order to know which one to get I need to look it up and match it to my vin..... anyone know where I can find a Database that contains this info BESIDES THE DEALERSHIP?
Thanks
P
