Default what is this?

Hello all,
About a month ago I started copious white smoke coming out of my exhaust. I replaced the valve stem covers-inner and outer.
However, now I am having a problem where whenever I hit the throttle even a little smoke comes out. This only seems to happen after I have been driving the car for 10 mins or more.
I was going to check the turbo the other day when I discovered two tubes were loose. SEE PICS.
Could this have anything to do with the smoke problem? I don't know what these are and I have checked my haynes manual back and forth and can't find a diagram indicating what they could be? Any thoughts?

X2 on the suction pump...

The one way check valves in that vacuum line are notorious for rotting too...they're cheap, may as well replace them too. Sounds like you should fix all your vacuum leaks, your boost is suffering bad. Then do a leakdown test on the boost system. If you had a boost gauge installed you would have saw this vacuum leak from a mile away. =) As for the white smoke, that generally means your burning coolant. Could be a head gasket...hard to say. The smoke should smell different than that of burning oil with a slight blue tint to the smoke. Pull the spark plugs and do a compression test. If your head gasket is leaking, you may have coolant on the spark plugs and/or in the combustion chamber.

blueish color smoke in exhaust is related to oil. white smoke is related to coolant.

the dreaded 3 way check valve. That one always seems to go. REplace and report back.

alright i replaced both the suction pump purge and the vacuum check valve yesterday. All went well until this afternoon when I was driving to work and it started to smoke from the exhaust again, though not as bad as last time?
thoughts anyone?

It is hard to tell really, but I guess it has kind of a bluish ting? I am also still burning oil pretty rapidly. I have been checking the coolant and that has been stable though,
your thoughts?
thanks
