it is a 8mm hex key socket for the carrier like an allen key but use a socket one.

I highly recommend the following:

Irwin Industrial Tool 53227 Hex Head Multi-Spline Extractor Set, 25-Piece - Amazon.com Irwin Industrial Tool 53227 Hex Head Multi-Spline Extractor Set, 25-Piece - Amazon.com

I was able to get a fill plug unstuck with this set. I must have applied well over 100 foot pounds to get it off and the extractors took it. Obviously, you need nice even pressure to get the job done. That set was worth every penny.

dam lol if only i found this earlier.. i could get the bottom bolt out on the rear passenger but the top was stripped out... i ended up prying the carrier so it rotated out enough to slip the rotor out.
