What did the VW dealer do to my car?
I have a 2002 A4, 70,000 miles and decided it was time to change my timing belt. The Audi dealer wanted $3K so I took it to a local VW dealer instead. They gave me a reasonable price for all the belts, water pump, etc. (I bought the parts myself).
Anyway, I just got a call from them saying that after finishing with the service, they drove the car and when they got to the highway, the oil light came on and the car made a big clunking sound. They turned the car off and when they turned it back on, the problem went away. They're going to drive the car some more and figure out if this problem recurs.
Anyone have any guesses what's going on? The car was driving perfectly fine when I took it in. I'm worried--that car is my baby. Thanks.
