Default What do you think of my mods and plans?

I'm in the middle of doing some (minor) upgrades, and I'm somewhat new to tuning (normally I just buy a beater and beat it, this is my first NICE car)

I've put in it:
$410 Valentine One radar detector, hard wired
$4873 for a new clutch/tranny case (OEM, clutch grenaded taking tranny case with it)
$350 Carbonio CAI
$550 Pioneer 400W Amplifier, 12 inch Competition Series Sub, and slotted box.
$700 2 Boston Acoustics 12" G512 Subs (Crutchfield Buy1Get1 FTW!), Q.Logic slotted dual box, Tsunami 1.2 Farad Capacitor, blew the Pioneer sub and kept the Amp.
$450 order from Speedlifemotorsport.com: APR R1 DV, JHM Solid Short Throw Shifter w/ shortened shaft, Apikol D Snub mount.
$20 Xenon 8000K Fogs
$5 Xenon (10,000k?) reverse lights, sweet as hell looking BTW
$10~ Copper Core spark Plugs

Things that have broken and need fixing:
Battery won't hold a charge
Wipers linkage seems shot, they barely moved and now they flail
Wipers put a crack in the windshield on the top pane of glass, looks like its multipane glass
Needs new switches for the windows, some of the auto up/downs dont work.

Things I have left to order:
$500-$700 depending on where I can find it, Boston Acoustics GT-28 Amplifier
$320 TT225 Injectors
$180 pair of Density motor mounts
$300~ Hitachi E Coilpacks
$150~ Braille 15LB Battery w/ mount
VagCom
$600~ APR Stage 1+ Chip w/Stock and 93 octane programs.

Little mods here and there, took out the Ski Sack for a bass-port, Took out the foam liner on the hood, had my spare tyre stolen by the dealership when they had it for 3 weeks, free dings and dents (scuffed, curbed, and gouged rims swapped on) from the dealership whenever I get an oil change, you know the whole nine

All in all I wouldn't say that's so bad for an '03 A4 1.8TQM with only 54,000 when I got it in January, 63,000 now

What do you folks think?

Is that cost for the clutch normal, or is that a special clutch? I don't know much about cars, I am just surprised to hear it costs that much.

They are the H11 bulbs for the fogs, I got 'em on eBay. Actually they are quite nice.

They arent actually HID, just Xenon vapor bulbs, with a normal fillament, and a blue outer. For all intents and purposes, they are good enough for me.

Let me know how the rear foglights work out. I have wanted to do that for a while now.

Well, the rear fog lights have the red covering from the brake, and there are two bulb sockets, but on the two Audi's I have seen with them on, only the drivers side bulb works. I put a bulb in the passenger side socket, but it won't power on.

However, the Xenon reverse lights look amazing, and the blinker, brake, and reverse lights are all the same size bulb. $5 gave me almost what I wanted, however I am still considering a LED tail light swap. This just puts it off for a bit.

I just put in the short throw, snapped the head off one of the T25 screws that hold the guide rails down, and it takes attention to get it into reverse, but overall I love it. I'm no longer missing shifts because my foot is faster than my hand

That $230 kit was TOTALLY worth it, and IMHO should be done LONG BEFORE anyone even CONSIDERS a Carbonio intake, spoken from experience =P
