What does the S option on the auto shifter do?

Default What does the S option on the auto shifter do?
I haven't been able to find this anywhere? When you select S, what does it do?

it's the sport mode. it puts the transmission in the peak horsepower region. it makes for a fun and fast drive. it's like D but with espresso.
