Hi all, I'm looking to purchase an A4 1.8T with the Ultrasport package. What mileage is too much mileage and what is just right? Also, how are the maintenance costs right now for B6's? Is there a mileage where stuff starts going wrong you've noticed from your experience?

I've found 2 A4's with ultrasport pkgs, silver and black, with 49k and 54k miles and everything checks out on the VINs, and of course I would take it to Audi before I purchase.
Anyways, any tips or advice would be very helpful.

There really isn't a certain mileage as far as I am concerned, it's about getting the lowest mileage and most recent of the car you want for the money. You don;t have to worry about this because you are looking for a USP but I would stay away from 02-03 because thy had more issues than the 04-05. Maintenance isn't bad especially if you do it all yourself or find a good indy shop from what I have been told. I do it all myself and it's really cheap. As far as issues, 2 coil packs and 1 fuel filter in 100K miles, I consider this an extremely reliable car

 

Are they both quattro? Both have same tranny? Both in same condition? Usually, lower miles is better, but given the two are so close together, you could think about the other variables.

 

The 49k one will probably still be under the manufacturers warranty. If you are looking at getting an extended warranty, that would be the cheapest way to go as far as extending the already existing warranty. Just my $.02.
