Not really, i think there is fairly easy DIY... YOu will have to take your back seats out though.
For how long have u had that sound?

noise is from fuel pump due to much resistance in flow. Change fuel filter fuel filter first. If it isn't fixed, then pump is bad and needs to be changed.

Hey everyone,

Actually, I just changed my fuel filter today because I was hearing the whining sound - and now just before I turn the car over to start it there is a loud noise coming from the rear - almost screeching - once the car starts the noise completely goes away - what do you guys think that is?

Is there anything special about a 2001.5 (2002) fuel filter? The local foreign part place says mine has a fuel pressure regulator inside. They say its not the $15 one, its the $40-$60 one. Anyone know anything about this?

2001.5 is still a b5 model (i think). Our fuel filters cost about that price 40-60. And yes, we do have the pressure regulator.

Mine is the newer B6 body style and is titled as a 2002. It does have some differences from other B6's. It does have the AMB engine code. It was made in 6/01. So which one do I need?
