I had the same problem with mine. So I checked fuse 37 and found it was blown. I replaced it with a 30A as recommended from other threads and now it works with no problems. Awesome! Thanks for the post, it was very helpful.

I ended up changing mine a second time and upped the rating by another 5A, not ideal but I've not had another blown fuse since. The pump is obviously dragging slightly too much current.

Default fuse 37

OK, the fuse kept blowing after running the washer a couple of times with a 20A fuse. Upped the amps to 30 and have had no problems.

if You are refering to the washer nossels for the windshield then i would suggest getting a pin or nail and cleaning out those holes where the water comes out of. They tend to get clogged when the fluid dries. U can either pop out the whole washerjet thing with your hood open and a flathead. or u can just clean it from uptop.

problem the motors gone and fried up. Or the connection could be loose. I honestly dont like those washers they always get my car dirty at night.

I just replaced my pump - checked fuses, etc. all good, so moved on to the pump. Easy to replace by removing the driver's side headlight assy. You can reach down in there and remove the pump from the reservoir by hand - the pump inlet is just pushed into the reservoir through an o-ring and the body of the pump snaps into a holder molded onto the reservoir. Pull it out (all your remaining fluid will come rushing out) and then pull the pump up where you can see it. Remove the outlet hose and electrical connector. I compared the bad one to pictures on various websites to order the new one - it was not clear from most sites which was the proper pump. Once you have the new one, just push into the o-ring and snap the body back against the reservoir - you can do this all by feel. I put the hose and electrical connection back on by feel as well since it was tricky to maneuver it back into it's home with those connected first. Whole thing took 10 minutes.

I have a 99 a8. Is this fuse 37 that people are referring to the same for my car? And is located in the passenger compartment? I checked all the fuses inside the car and they are all good.

All fuses ok? If you get not noise from the pump then is probably most likely more than likely the pump. Just a thought.
