Default 07 iPod integration suggestions/advice

Hi!

Just sold my 99 Passat GLS and bought an 07 A4 Quattro S-Line... I love the car, but I hate that the only other option to the cd changer is the limited capacity sd card reader

I really don't want to tear open my dash and do a crazy mod or anything, but I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about adding an uxiliary input for my phone, or iPod, or usb, or something?

I just don't want to mess up anything the first week I have the car haha (drilling holes, snapping fragile bezels, etc...)

I don't know if it matters much, but the car has the navigation unit, glove box cd changer, and bose speakers?

Thanks in advance!!

A timely question.

See this. I'm getting ready to integrate my iPhone as well.

If you want to go simpler than that, you can just add the DICE unit. I used the I-Audi-R, but I think if you have factory nav, you need the I-Audi-T2. The good people at Enfig can help you out.

Absolutely! I am going with the specdock and Dension for fit and finsh as well as functionality purposes.

Yeah, yours is probably a cleaner solution, but much more expensive and complicated. I just routed my iPod cable out the bottom of the center console and leave it laying next to the gearshift. I only have an iPod classic, so my needs were simple.

It looks like with the nav unit and a glove compartment wired for CD changer, you don't even have to pull the head unit to install the DICE adapter, but I don't have that, so I'm just going by what it said on the site.

Either way, Enfig is awesome.

OMG absolutely. I actually just got off the phone with them, seems I forgot a cable. Went over the whole set up with them and got "You did your homework!" I'm happy.

Default Thanks for the info

This looks like a sweet solution, but do you have to sack the glove box cd changer to use this? they can't both be hooked up?

I'd really like to leave everything as clean and factory as possible, and not lose any functionality if at all possible

This is a great question. I'm sure if you called Enfig, they could help you out with that. From what I understand, the iPod unit actually plugs into the SAT input, which is why I had to get the SAT Bipass so I could use both.

It seems like to go that route you do have to sack the cd changer.

I did some hunting and got two 4GB sd memory cards... While a pain to keep up-to-date with ur listening selection, I'm finding 8GB of space plenty to work with. It does kinda suck when ur driving and you just really wanna kick urself for not adding that one album when you were loading ur memory cards lol

Between that and the sat radio I can find something to keep me happy though, so its all good.

Thanks for the help and insight, hope ur installation went well! I'd like to see some photos of ur solutions?

Install went very well. Very clean solution. Looks exactly like the pictures on the specdock website, except I have a different head unit.
