Hi,

It appears that my gearbox is nearing the end of it's life after after a measly 66,000 miles according to the mechanics.

So I spoke to Audi to find out what gearbox's would fit the engine cod BUL. He said a new box from them is £4,100 + vat + fitting nearly fainted.

So having seen that there were a series of gaerbox's codes along side mine with different codes he checked and said that only the GMV would fit.

The other codes were GJV, GJW, GVE, GYY and JEE (plus mine GMV) the part number on EKTA is >02X 300 044 J

Now I'm assuming all the other codes mentioned above will actually fit but will they drastically be ratiod differently? Surely there's not only one gearbox code that will fit.

Can anyone shed any light on the matter of gearbox codes and whether any other codes are compatible.
