Let me tell you my story its interesting hope you will like it.

I have an A4 2.0TFSI Quattro Tiptronic with SLine option and my best friend has an A6 3.0TDI Quattro Tiptronic. All cars are new 2005 models. Last month at midnight we decided to test the cars on highway(it is empty at nights here in istanbul). Both cars are stock no tunes or etc except the A6 has 235-45-17 Pzero Neros (stock was 22-55-16 he canged it) and i have 235-45-17 Michelin Pilot Sports. Before that i have known the original performance sheet of the cars

A4 2.0 TFSI Quattro Tiptronic

A6 3.0 TDI Quattro Tiptronic
0-100kmh: 7.3sec
V-max:243 kmh(official)

BTW we hang out to the higway and i waited him to heat his engine up becauze the diesels are heating up so long time.Anyway thr road was empty as always we started to roll at 70kmh. I was in manuel in S mode, he was driving at same. We started at first second i keep my head largey ahead up him and at 180-200 kmh i was 4 -5 cars ahead of him after 220kmh the distance bcome no change and at 250(on my speedo) i was ahead at same distance. I mean i keep up 4-5 cars till 200kmh's the the distance become same, no change till we go 250kmh at that time. the roll was about 70-250kmh
We tried this several times and the result was same.(My friend isnt a crap driver if you think because we did it several times and the result was same also for provemyself in the some of the try , i make it easy let him kick at first seconds but result was same also) By the way i saw at most 250kmh(i think it was 248 something needle milimetric up to 250kmh) at the time that no distance change between us. And he said me after we give a break oo bro i saw 260km/h. I said Honkkk!!!! 260?? How possible i saw at most 250kmh i was ahead 4-5 cars and the distance was same after that how it possible. He said on my speedo bro. I was very surprised i beat him not nose to nose lol 4-5 cars and the speed are highspeed as the TDI like these situations after took its torque
I said ok lets have try a little uphill . I thougt uphill there will better for him he was 450 nm and 1liter bigger 2 ciylinder bigger and 25hp bigger. We tried it but the result was not 4-5 cars but it is like 3-4 cars. I was shocked again lol. He was shocked also. We tried that several times also result was same
Then we give a break and gone inside the city to try 0-100km/h we tried twice and i was ahead 2-3 cars he was shocked again and he said i am gonna sell this lol
After that we go to hoighway again to try it last time. we start about 60-70kmh again thr result was same 4-5 cars ahead but then a uselees track signaled to my line i had to slow down not to crush lol he passed me then we arrive a downhill he waited me and he was a head 6-7 cars and we start to roll from about 150kmh till go whereever lol. till the 220's i made the distance low about 3-4 cars from 5 cars and after that the distance was same no change we a were going at same speed distance was about 2 cars it was same the speed was same and my speedo needle was on ythe 250kmh. Then we stopped to chat he said i broke my speed record the needle was at 270kmh loll I said impossible we are on same speed at 250km how possible this is.

There is no video record about this roll but we will do it again in a few weeks later with one passanger with us to record it and to see whose speed has much error and to show
you the the both cars performance

Now my questions
1st: How possible to 2.0 Turbo Quattro Tipt. Audi to beat 3.0 Turbo Dıesel Injection Quattro Tiptronic beat very easy 4-5 cars a big difference i think. at the speeds that TDI's become king , 2.0 was the same also ? Anybody explain?

2nd: Same questions on the hillup there is a diffrence 170nm and 1liter and 25 hp how possible is this

3rd: about the speeds that he saw 260 i saw 248, he saw 270 i saw 250 that we are going at same speed that time? Is the diffrence on tyres that he did effect on that

Try fetching three guys in your car, then you guys would be equal, i gues.. you have a 265kg advantage.

 

I dont think so but if i imagine its equal while we get 3 person in our cars
why the tech datas of the a4 2.0Turbo worse than the A6.
BTW i dont think we will be equal maybe 4-5 difference become 1-2 at most
I have 265 kg adavantge but he has 1.000cc bigger 2 cylinder bigger and 25 hp bigger than me also 170nm more torque
he has turbo also

hmmmm the A6 3.0ltr DTI is heavier for a start probably has bigger wheels and wider tyres/different gear ratios "its a cruiser/luxury not a racer" and will go like that all day long and a lot cheaper I suppose

 

someone didnt get calibrated when they switched up their wheel/tires. simple

if a turbo diesel beat me, and it wasnt a ford f350 with lots of work, id be so pissed

 

In my opinion, 25hp doesnt help much for a car that size. Secondly, both are very different machines, A4s are well known to be fun to drive, A6 on the other hand, do you think Audi will tune all A6s to go WHHHAAMMM ! when you floor the pedal? I guess its tune to be more comfortable?

Nevertheless, the extra 25hp, and the extra 265kg weight, the diesel combustion (i still don't think diesels perform as unleaded petrols do) .... makes it to be slightly slower?



Or your friend wanting you to feel good after the race?

 

hehe no i dont think so he is looking on a c55 after that an used one i think lol .
By the way yes 25hp cannot help so much i agree. but why the audi official datas are much better i mean 0.4sec better and 8km much top speed for the tdi a6.
by the way for the fuel you ask i was using shell extra v-power unleaded and he was v-power diesel fuel. same shell.
