2007 A4 avant brake upgrade
I've looked thru the threads and I don't think I missed what I'm looking for. So I have a stage 2 avant and it's time to replace the front brakes (rears to follow soon). Any input from your experiences would help greatly. I don't have the money for a BBK, so I'm looking at two options for rotors and two for pads as well as going with stainless lines.
First the rotors. I'm leaning toward EBC ultimax slotted rotors ($308/pr.) The other option was JHM 2 piece slotted ($645/pr.). The JHM are nice and double the money, they are also 3lbs. lighter than a stock rotor. I'm for weight reduction but at the price is it worth it?
Second, I've seen quite a bit of talk about EBC's red stuff pads ($102/set). My other option (which I'm leaning toward) is Hawks HPS pad ($122/set).
Combine all this with stop tech stainless lines, does it sound like a good combo?
Oh and a little more info. The car is a daily driver with a little SCCA when I can fit it in.
