Default 2008 A4 S-Line Symphony Sound System

I picked up a 2008 A4 the other day on a trade I couldn't refuse. I have been playig with it for a few days and am impressed having been a pretty faithful VW owner. I have some questions about radio functionality I can't seem to find answers to on the forum. I have a Symphony II (?) radio with no NAV.

1) In the settings menu what the hell is SVC? and is there a difference between normal and comfort seek besides watching sations tick by?

2) Once I set my FM presets, is there a way to jump from preset to preset using the stering wheel cotrol on the left side (right side does volume). If i spin it it seems to seek the next available station, no necessarily a preset and if i push it is appears to do the same.

3) I have a button for SAT. does this mean I can get SAT if I subscribe or is it just their?

Thanks in advance

M

1. I will have to look at my owners manual. I do remeber it changes the display screen and shows the next available station depending which way you want to roll the wheel.

2. Not that I have figured out. Appears it just seeks the next station.

3. Maybe. If you press it and the display tells you to call SIRRUS then it is installed. If nothing happens then it is not sat ready.

SVC is the speed volume control. It automatically adjusts the volume based on your speed.

Default Do you know anything about the screen saver mode?

When I turn the clock off using the Menu function I sometimes get the screen saver mode to work and at other times it does not. I like to use it for SAT because it then shows the artist and song instead of another clock that I already have. With FM radio it used to work but stopped. The dealer installed another head unit and now it doesn't work for FM or Sirius. Is there a convenience code I need to change with my VAG-COM?

Thanks for any assistance.
