Default Bluetooth capability

I have an 2006 model that has the MODE and TALK buttons on the steering wheel. I have an LG phone that has bluetooth. When I try to sync them, my phone is saying no device found. Is it plossible that I have these buttons on my steering wheel and do not have bluetooth hands free capability installed on the vehicle ?

Yup. I've got the buttons, but no BT module. It was an option in '06 and I don't have it.

To be sure, have the phone search for a device immediately after starting the car. They told me that it is only discoverable for the first 5 minutes after starting.

You can always call an Audi dealership to run your VIN to make sure you had Bluetooth installed. I have a Sony Ericsson Android phone and it took me a few minutes to pair. Don't forget you need to use the menu on your radio to search for devices. Do you have the RNS-E or standard radio? I have the RNS-E had just went to the phone menu. If you do have the RNS-E, then when you hit the Mode button, on your dash display, it should say INSERT PHONE if you have this capability. If you do not see it, then you do not have Bluetooth capability. If you do want it, the dealership can install it for you as an OEM. It is a great feature to have while you drive. My contacts appear on my dash display and I just scroll to the contact and click on my scroll button and it dials for me. The RNS-E also shows my signal strength for my phone too. Not sure at all how the regular radio works.
