Default A4 2.0 TDI engine air pressure. help!!

hi all, new to audi's and a possible problem

just purchased a A4 2.0 tdi with 55,000miles and full audi dealer service history wth the last longlife service at 51000. its a cabriolet model 2006.

on starting the engine and taking the oil filler cap off ive noticed quite a lot of air blowing out from the engine, if i rest the oil filler cap back on but not tightned it jumps about everywhere. its not huge pressure blowing out but it is a fair bit and im wondering if this is a problem

a friend at work said it could be the oil seperator filter blocked and now im worried.
please help, any advice appreciated
its not a noisy engine and runs very nicely

am i worrying over nothing???
thanks in advance

ok so im starting to think that my suspected problem may be normal and that the crankcase is infact suposed to be under pressure and this air/oil vapour mix is sent back into the inlet manifold for enviromental reasons.

maybe someone could start there engine then take off oil filler cap to see if there is air blowing out and if so how much.

if others are experiencing the same as myself then maybe im definatly worrying too much

thanks again though ill be more gratefull if i get 1 reply

if you hear a whine/whistle type sound, especially at idle, the PCV needs to be replaced.
