Default A4 Cabrio problem in soft-top opening

Hi all, I'm an Italian guy who is going crazy with his audi a4 cabriolet 2007 (b7 model)... When i press soft top button, roof open for only 3 cm over the windshield and block in this position. Without turning off the car the roof came back in closed position normally with any damage indicator...I have already asked in an Audi service, but They can't repair my roof, now he told to me they want change central unit, over 1.500€ they are crazy ...Can you explain me how can i fix it? thanks in advice and excuse me for my english

Ok hun I have an older 1998 Audi 80 Cabriolet and had a similar problem it would open part way then stick this was due to the micro switch telling the handbrake that the roof was open already and it would lock in position. This is what they found and fixed.

Investigate roof fault, Found boot lid looms and tailgate micro switch and catch damaged. Invesitgated further and found fault in handbrake switch replaced tailgate micro switch, catch and handbrake switch and worked fine.

Switch £18.94 Lock £33.28 Wiring kit £2.95

This is a common fault on the cabby but a cheap fix hope this helps you

Does the roof light blink in the dashboard when you turn the car on?

Its still to do with the Switches then all of a sudden it will stop totally so better to find out now rather than later and it gets more expensive trust me my friend Darren got a bill for £2000k so when mine started to play up I got it sorted and quickly

Yes it does. I have a 2006 S4 Cab with this same issue. Ever since it stopped working, the roof light has been blinking. But when a shop hooked up the VAG-com, they couldn't find any codes. Help!
