Advice needed.
My son in law has a 57 plate Audi A4 2.0 TDI. He`s having issues that he can`t resolve. His engine management light is on, along with Dpf filter and oil sensor. The code that is showing up is the generic P2100. He changed the oil sensor a while ago but the sensor light came back on. He changed the throttle body recently too.
While coming back from Wales a couple of weeks ago, the DPF light came on and it went into limp mode. He took it to a garage when he came back but they were unable to remove any codes or get it out of limp mode. It was suggested that it may be an ECU problem as the drain holes were clogged, and there was water around the battery compartment. This was tested and found to be perfect. On putting the ECU back in and straightening the wires, all the codes and lights went off and the car ran absolutely fine. Then within a couple of days the lights have all come back on, even though the car is running ok.
Do you think this is a wiring problem and is it worth getting an auto electrician to look at it. Any advice would be greatfully received.
Thanks for letting me join the forum and apologies if I have posted in the wrong section, or if this has been discussed before.
