Default air intake ideas

2008 B7 2.0TQ

iv been searching the forum and google all day and cant find what im looking for. i want to know if anyone makes an aftermarket pipe to replace the rubber hose that runs from stock driver side intercooler to the throttle body. i know it seems kinda silly but i thought it would look cool to have a nice shiny and sparkly metal pipe right there
i know i could do the home depot intake **** but that defeats the purpose of looking good.

also, is there anyone with experience with the aem intake that is said to fit the b7 2.0t? http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...0A3103765.aspx

a majority of the crap i find on here only deals with carbonio intakes and the science behind a cai but no other products

Those are basically the intercooler charge pipes, it won't be under the intake when you search. You can just do a useful upgrade and install an FMIC which WILL give you a power increase, plus its ****.

to be honest, it probably wasnt a great idea. yeah it makes a swoosh sound, but before i was getting about 13psi (stock intake) and now its only about 10psi. The throttle response is a little better though. it is aluminum and its an AEM short ram intake.

if i had it to do over i probably would have spent the money differently, just b/c of the loss of boost.

btw... anyone have any suggestions on how to get the boost back? Quick fix?

Get your boost back? Putting in a bigger turbo or changing back your old intake will regain your boost. You made the intake pipes bigger than they used to be and you put a higher CFM filter on it. That would only benefit you with a larger turbo that can push the air. The same thing happens when people get a large core intercooler, if the turbo is too small for the amount of size piping your using, you will lose PSI.

Yes you gained throttle response, but if you dyno'ed it you would probably see a loss in horsepower.

ricer mods don't improve the HP or TQ mods for these cars. unlike jap crap, the audi aftermarket is very small for a reason-the engines come stout from the factory.

so would you recommend a FMIC for a stock turbo or not? i dont want to change the intake pipe diameter or airbox or anything like that. just thought that maybe i could replace the rubber hose with a nicer looking aluminum pipe.

also, IF i were to ever do a FMIC, would i remove the factory one on the driver's side?
