Audi A3 braking issue
Hi
I've just brought myself a secondhand A4, and notice that when I brake down from a reasonable speed, car tends to vibrate or pulse a lot. .any ideas what this is and is it serious?
By the way, this is my first Audi and only had it one day and already very impressed, even though it's an old low mileage car!
Thanks.

Sounds like you need a brake job (including rotors). The rotors could be warped or something unevenly worn. As long as the car is still stopping, it isn't too serious, but it is annoying when it feels like it's going to shake itself apart.
Hi, just to update on that problem...yes it was warped discs etc but as they were brand new, the problem was the gear box... Broke down soon after and when old oil was drained it was silver in colour!.. suggesting there was metal parts rubbing and grinding in there somewhere... Anyhow got a czm gearbox off eBay for £125 similar age and mileage and it has been perfect....dream to drive and no noises etc.... I knew that noise sounded expensive!!!
