Australian B7 2.0 litre Multitronic
This model without turbo may not be sold in USA so the question may be misplaced. I am approaching 90,000km (55,000 ml) and am being told I need to replace timing belt as a precaution at a cost of around $1000....duh..! I see a few remarks about timing belts being a common issue with 1.8T but any comment on expected life with 2.0 liter non turbo..?
i am sitting right now in the dealership waiting for my 25k service to occur. when looking in the 07 maint manual last night...the basic one that comes with the car i didnt see a timing belt replacement. others can chime in on this...when did the dealer recommend it and where in their literature can they show you this? bet driving on the kiwi highways in a a4 is pretty cool!
The service schedule calls for the timing belt to be replaced at 75k miles/115k km. That's for "Audi 2.0L TFSI". Not sure if that applies to non-turbo 2.0, since they don't say anything about it for the non-turbo non-2.0 engines.
