I am looking at buying a Gentex K2 Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror for a 2005 audi a4...wondering if there will be any compatibility issues. Anyone know?

 

My b7 doesnt have a auto dimming rearview...it would be nice to have one though! my audi is about perfect and thought they should have an autodimming mirror but they do not. it is a nice feature.

 

phos we have almost identical cars how come u didn't have an auto dim? or did i read it wrong and just u didn;t get it as an option?

 

i didnt know audi had this option..guess i got hosed on it..that is what happens when you buy off the lot :-) reminds me of the story when i negotiated for 1 week on my car...brought over a ford fusion to compare against the a4. the a4 was about 3k more but when i added on all the features,,,turbo, lifetime powertrain, low interest loan it was a smackdown. actually the fusion i passed on my son ended up buying. as we have spent the last few days pimping/cleaning both vehicles the fusion is nice but it aint an audi PERIOD! the 3k more i paid was worth it. the fusion looks real nice but it doesnt have all the engineering that is apparent in mine.

 

yeah i have an auto dimming mirror but it came with a certain package i dunno if you are able to purchase it through audi as an option without getting everything else that comes with it but i totally agree an auto dimming mirror is worth every dollar

 

Whoa, a Fusion is only 3k less than an Audi?! Either that thing is ridiculously overpriced or you got a great deal on your car!

 

long story for sure but did get a deal on the a4 with a supplier discount and time to negotiate the audi care. now at that time ford wasnt dealing so the 3k difference of a loaded fusion at 24k and the a4 at 28k out the door with audi care closed the deal. it was kind of cool showing up at the stealership with the fusion comparing it side by side...by no means is the fusion comparable but it is a nice car for my 21 year old :-)
