Default B5 to B7... hoping for the right one

Hi. I currently own a B5 audi a4 2.8 Quattro, I love her a lot but she's just starting to look and feel old to ME, maybe because I'm getting older, so I personally could use a fresher feel and look. As much as I'd like to keep the B5 I have no space for it. I'd like to keep it within the family or friends, but that may not be an option. I'll never forget her though. She'll always be my first Audi.

So far, I think the B7 Quattro models at around 100,000 seem to be within my current budget point. Yes, I'd rather have a newer year and a lot less miles than that, but if only the price is right and budget permits.

I was hoping to come here for some advise and to do some research of my own. Hopefully being here will guide me to the right direction. Thanks. And Happy Memorial Day!

They're good cars. I can't speak for how they are past 100,000 miles though. I haven't reached that milestone yet. That's right about when the timing belt is due, so watch out for that. But if you maintain it nicely, it will treat you nicely.

Just bought my B7 over the weekend, loving it so far. Took a lot of effort to find a good one for the right price in my area though. Couldn't believe how many I found that I was ready to jump on then found out they aren't Quattro. If in doubt like I was on a few, just call the VIN into the dealership and they'll tell you.

Thanks for the response guys. My current B5 is at 160,000 miles. I've driven her cross country countless times. I've owned a number of different cars in my life, and the way that Audi drives is different. Brilliant! She's got 160k miles, and that's why it's so hard to let her go... Because she's not showing any signs of slowing down!

My #1 reason for wanting to replace her and let her go is simply aesthetics. While I do think audi's age nicely and keep somewhat of an ageless look, I just think the b5's are now in a time where they do look 'dated'. They still look smart though.

Tell me if I'm wrong here, but I think I remember encountering a study of the Quattro syst recently, and didnt they find that the b5 models still have the best Quattro system? Better than the new models? Did I dream that or misunderstand that?

Bump for Audi being the definition of a real car with a strong touch of brilliance.
